Ok AC Unity is done, my thoughts:
- Story is very eh, Arno is a bit player in his own story and the lack of historical figures kinda took away zest from the story (AC 3 had too much but they scaled WAY too much), like, I know it’s not for everyone but it can be really fun to meet a historical guy and know he’s important. The only real moment for that were Robespierre and Napoleon (And even then, only for one mission, each!)
- Gameplay simplified a little too much to account for Multiplayer, stuff like only one melee and ranged weapon, only two techniques, you’re pretty much only mashing
- Side quests and side stories also pretty much downscaled to be a few lines of dialogue and not worth doing, with the real side stories being in the multiplayer WHICH-…
- Multiplayer barely works in 2024, got it working a few times, fun when it works, but it takes FOREVER, I could only get it to work by finding the guy hanging out around the Cafe and queueing that way
- So much was scaled back for this Multiplayer which hardly works and that really sucks bc I do like the concept and it’s cool when it works
- Paris is very pretty and a good map! I liked it even if I was kinda rushing through it, just very colorful and fun to explore even if I saw some areas get reused
I’m told that this isn’t the best depiction of the French Revolution which certainly does suck because this is my only viewpoint into it so far but it was just ok It’s pretty ok, not the worst, but not the best either. 8/10
I’ll play the DLC Dead Kings tomorrow and do some clean up before I uninstall
Next week I’m gonna work on some smaller games while I wait for Sand Land to drop
